Lazer Gate Team Tournament II
Date: Saturday April 10 - Arrive by 11:30pm - ends 7am
Cost: $25 per player - includes pizza and membership if you don't already have one
Game Format: Zone Team Competition Format
On April 10th Lazer Gate will host it's Second Team Laser Tag Tournament. Players will be tested and pushed to their limits in a highly strategic game of Tournament Style Base Defense. Each team will field 6 players with one alternate allowed. Tournament style Base Defense requires each team work togther to score points on the other teams bases as well as organizing a defense of their own base.
Team Competition format runs differently than normal team games in several respects. Interested players would be well advised to read the following descriptions to ensure all of the rules and gameplay is understood.
Registration should be done in advance online at www.lazergate.com/catalog/ or at Lazer Gate's Front Desk. Players are recommended to register in full teams, but individuals will be allowed and will be matched up as needed. Click here to check our message boards for matching up teams.
Team Competition Format
- Game Time: 12 minutes
- Start time: 30 seconds- players MUST start within their own bases until their pack is fully active
- Rate of phasor fire- 1 shot per second (normal team/solo games run higher shot rates so this WILL be slower than usual. This requires much better accuracy.
- Stuns are enabled (this is now the norm for Lazer Gate anyway)
- Deactivation/Stun times- 7 seconds/3 seconds
- Friendly Fire is enabled! You CAN tag your own players and lose points for doing so. Keep in mind, if a player fires upon and hits their own teammate, that player will lose the FULL point value of that particular sensor, while their teammate loses the normal 25% (team loses a net of 125%
- Scoring
Hitting opposing player:
- Chest +200
- Back +100
- Shoulder +50
- Phasor +50
You tag teammate:
- Chest -200
- Back -100
- Shoulder -50
- Phasor -50
Any player tags you:
- Chest -50
- Back -25
- Shoulder -12
- Phasor -12
- Bases: Enabled - Defensive Mode
- Shots to Destroy Base: 3
- Players can destory enemy bases: Once Each
- Base Reset Time: 6 seconds between shots
- Base Recovery Time: 20 seconds after destruction
- Destory Opponents Base: +4500 points
- Fire Shot Into Base Target: -500 points
- Tagged by Base Retaliation: -500 points
- Denials: Enabled - +200 points per shot that opponent fired into base
Denial points are awarded when a player tags an opposing player who is trying to destroy a base. The player will be awarded +200 points for each shot that the opposing player has successfully shot into the base. This is in addition to the normal points for the sensor that is tagged.
- Base Evacuation rules: Players who become deactivated within a base must leave that base immediately. Players may not cross the boundary line back into the base until they are FULLY active. Any player not observing the Base Evacuation rules will be warned and possibly have a penalty applied to their score. Maps of the bases with base boundaries will be added.
